Alan Duckett graduated from Heriot-Watt University in 1981 with an honours degree in Chemical and Process Engineering. Keen to have a career in process design he joined Babcock LGE Process as a graduate process design engineer in the same year.
With the exception of a brief spell working for Akzo Chemie, he has been in the liquid gas business for 34 years. With LGE Process, Alan has occupied a number of roles throughout the business in process engineering, project management, site management, sales management, design and technical management.
He was appointed to LGE’s Board of Directors in 2000 with responsibility for Sales & Marketing and Process Design.
A current focus for Alan is providing Technical Governance for the new technologies being developed by LGE’s Strategic Project Team and taking these technologies to market. Current areas of interest are; increased efficiently in LPG reliquefaction, zero emission LNG bunkering, mixed refrigerant LNG reliquefaction, reliquefaction of methane rich commercial ethane and enhanced VOC recover for shuttle tankers.
